15TH ANNUAL NUTCRACKER
Enjoy this traditional holiday performance with a contemporary twist! This full-length production, set to the Duke Ellington arrangement of the Tchaikovsky score, tells of the classic love story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince and features audience favorites such as Dance of the Snowflakes, Waltz of the Flowers, and the Spanish and Arabian variations. This modern dance version however, also showcases dances from around the globe to include Africa, India, Ireland, Greece, Scotland, Polynesia, and France. It is a community event not to be missed! Admission is FREE but seating will fill up quickly so plan to arrive early. Runtime is 96 minutes including a 15 minute intermission. Donations are graciously accepted at the door.

Students must be enrolled in the fall (or in special circumstances due to scheduling conflicts, the spring semester) of the program to perform in our annual Nutcracker. All class levels perform in the production with additional variation roles cast through an audition process. Due to the number of variations, this is a three day process. Audition dates are typically held the first Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the first week of school. Veteran ensemble dancers and Holly Springs Dance Repertory Company members are called first. Any other student wishing to be considered for the ensemble will need to attend the open call time slot.
